I disgree with both you, Martin, and Nugget Hunter Smith! The Bible does not say rapture but from what I've heard and been told it is found written in Hebrew meaning "raptor" the catching away of God's faithful saints! The Bible absolutely tells about the faithful in Christ being caught up into the air and meeting Him, to pass through the Pearly Gates of Heaven, our haven of rest! We are hidden in the Cleft of the Rock and by leaning on and trusting in Jesus, we are kept holy in Him by confessing our sins and obeying the Living Word of God!
Now, you may think you will be going through the great tribulation, but I won't. After we are still here in the 3-1/2 years and go through the trials that are coming and will come, we shall be caught up and off of the Earth before the last 3-1/2 years will be the most horrible time for mankind (those left behind) that has ever been known! Those who believe then, by the two witnesses sent from God, do their witnessing and the anti-Christ is revealed who will come out of the old Roman Empire! I have read and studied the Bible, diligently, while writing it down, for 20 years and having been baptised in the Holy Ghost (God's Holy Spirit) I ask for understanding of that which I don't understand and He reveals it to me or brings it to my memory! He is our Comforted andTeacher of what is written so that we obtain knowledge and godly wisdom! But yet we see as if looking through a glass darkly! I am just an humble servant of my Lord, but I do know that it takes the leading of the Holy Spirit to lead us into all knowledge of His absolute truth!
I am not saying, I know or understand everything, but as I ask and seek it is revealed to me when I desire to know the meaning of scriptures! I also know I am a Child of God and that He is my All in all, protecting, providing and giving me peace that passes all understanding by His peace and comfort!
Those who accept Jesus as Savior then, in the great tribulation, will have to die for their belief in Christ by the guilotine or other means satan would use through the anti-Christ...the man of sin.....while His saints who are caught up into the air, will be in His loving presence with peace and quite while the end of the age's great tribulation comes upon earth! And then with Jesus we will be riding upon white horses and coming with Him, at His second coming, when He conquers over the anti-Christ and puts him in the bottomless put for a thousand years, as we rule and reign with Him until Judgement Day comes and satan and all evil ones will be cast into the Lake of fire, which is the second death but never ending, for the smoke of their torment rises up to God and His angels forever!
Now, I may not be right in everything concering the Chapters, Verses and Scriptures of the Bible, God's Holy Word, I do believe that all faithful servants and those who are prepared and ready to meet Jesus will be caught up and away from the destruction and tribulations coming upon the earth, called the great tribulation! Noah and his family, who were the only faithful ones, were in the Ark with each pair of animals during the great flood! I believe that I won't be here and the Bible says, Ask and believe and we will receive the desires of our hearts and will be protected by walking with Him, daily and faithfully! Ya, can stay to know who the anti-Christ is and suffer if you want to, but my Spirit will be with God who gave it and my soul will rest in peace until I receive my immortal body to be with Jesus forever more! This will happen when we are caught up to Jesus, whether we are dead or alive in Him with the dead in Christ rising first and then we who are living will rise up and meet them in the air where our blessed Savior is waiting for us, because no one can enter in to God's Kingdom with a personal relationship with Jesus.....all other ways lead through a wide gate into hell's fire and many will find it but few will enter in at the straight gate by folllowing His narrow path of truth and love through being forgiven by Jesus after we confess our sins and do not sin again, willingly! Whosoever loves and obeys, Jesus, will not deliberately sin, because of His love for us and our love for Him! Amen!
