What kind of button I got up this way on Sunday but I got a couple closer views of the image on it. Hope you guys can help out as I have little experience in these older looking buttons. I know Tim L is giving a shot at finding an answer, many thanks for that!

I looked through one button book. I could not find a match. It is not a MA. Button. Maybe it is a Canadian. I will continue my search. And I think you should try the Whatzit forum. Just saying. HH Tim

Tim it kinda reminds me of a recent find of mine, the 1990s 1/2 franc I found has a standing figure to the shield on the right and a spear in the left hand. Don't know if that might help, just thought that people use unique looking coin to make all sort of stuff.

Look in the newest W&E mag there's a a coin in there with the same exact stamping on it!!

maybe! google it and take a look!!! 1812'ish

Thanks for that Junior! But I have a button that has some distintive differences from those coins. Starting to wonder if it isn't some much later fantasy piece. I have no idea what those letters represent under the standard bearer, if that's what he is.
