The first stirrup I believe I have identified correctly. A cavalry stirrup from 1911-12 and marked B.M. Co. U.S.
The last 2 pics of the second one is an enigma.
They were both found by my brother-in-law on a knoll with no previous settlement. No homestead site. No other associated artifacts on the surface(he doesn’t metal detect). They were found in NC North Dakota with European settlement first occurring in the late 1800’s. But the area is close to the major and only river in the area. Any ideas on the second stirrup?
