Stirrup I.D.

The first stirrup I believe I have identified correctly. A cavalry stirrup from 1911-12 and marked B.M. Co. U.S.
The last 2 pics of the second one is an enigma.

They were both found by my brother-in-law on a knoll with no previous settlement. No homestead site. No other associated artifacts on the surface(he doesn’t metal detect). They were found in NC North Dakota with European settlement first occurring in the late 1800’s. But the area is close to the major and only river in the area. Any ideas on the second stirrup?

Two nice finds there!
I found one similar to the second one, but mine is an inch wider and has a solid bottom with stippling inside the footrest for grip
It was found around an old house site that dates no later than the mid to late 1800’s.
Where were the markings located that you found on the first one?

On the bottom side of the foot portion of the stirrup. Needed a loop to see them through the rust. The second stirrup has no markings. The size of the second one makes me think it is a ladies side saddle stirrup but just a guess.
