Storage finds

steve in so la

Well-known member
A friend bid & won a storage room contents sale. There were lots of people there bidding. He got a whole lot of clothing, which doesnt fit so he's giving them to me to take to the Gospel Rescue Mission where I volunteer.
But the great thing is he got a 14 K bracelet, fairly heavy, which by it's weight will more than pay for the bid. He also got other misc things.
Just wanted to pass this along, Steve in so az

That is great, Steve, he got paid for his contribution of the clothing for you to take to the Mission....Never know where you can find hidden treasures! May God keep blessing you and the Gospel Rescue Mission! Amen! Ma Betty

I must admit I've not heard of bidding on storage rooms before. Are these things that people simply didn't come back to get? Is this like rental spaces?

The Storage Wars show is on TV but the people are so vulgar in their talking and very selfish in how they bid....Not all I am sure, but the main ones who get the most lockers are something else by running each other up on their bids and sure do need Jesus! They do find some very good items among the ordinary furniture and trash...one was a nice coin collection (worth over $6,000) and others were jewelry, flare guns and etc. They never know what they will find or hit one that won't even pay for their bidding cost! I just can't imagine someone not paying the storage rent or cleaning out the storage unit and just leaving valuables behind! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

That is awesome Steve that you volunteer. Nothing like giving back to our local communities. It is also wonderful that there are people that will be able to use the clothes. And it worked out for your friend where he recouped his $$ and maybe a little extra.
