Store Token

Went out for a while this morning and had a little luck. Found about two dollars in clads and this token I actually found a token that I actually know a little something about. As you can tell by the coin, Goldstein-Miguel started as a General Store in Waco in 1886. I guess these were keepsakes given to customers on their 50th anniversary in 1936. I found it near an old house built about five blocks from where the store used to be. In 1953, it was one of the stores damaged in the tornado that went through downtown Waco. Some years later, they changed their name to Goldsteins and relocated to a strip mall out of the downtown area. About four years ago, they were bought out by a company called Dunlaps. Unfortunately two years ago they closed for good. HH
