..I went to my in laws this weekend;up in West Branch...all weekend they were braying on the news about this "MAJOR STORM" that was moving in to the state...Was talkin about 6-9 inches of snow;sleet, freezing rain...WELL:we left to come home around 8:30 this morning;had a little snow on the way;nothing serious...Got near home;we had about 1/4 inch of ice on the road;not bad id you went slow-seen a van in the ditch on its roof a mile from home;on the opposite end of town, somebody had hit a pole and took her down-I would imagine it was because in both cases it was from driving too fast ...In the Oakland
Press the other day they were talking about a radar trap they had set up down near I-75 and M-59-during that bad fog we had the other morning...It said the police were clocking motorists driving THRU THE FOG BANK-one at 93MPH,another one at 103 MPH :(..People like this should have their licence taken away, and their vehicle taken and sold-anybody that drives that fast-Fog or not-is a menace to all the other drivers out there...

a 1/4" of ice this morning, now the white stuff is starting up and should give me some work come morning!

hard winds changed to medium but still blowing a light snow started falling this morning that continued to get heavier and heavier. About 4 pm I went out and blew out our driveway and a neighbors - had 4 to 6 inches on the ground then and it kept going. Last I saw there was about another 3-4 inches before it got dark and its still snowing.

Will be out tomorrow morning blowing out our drive again and the neighbor as well.

I noticed I had lost a nut and bolt that helps hold the snow thrower chute in place (one side is still attached) - will have to go to the hardware tomorrow to get another screw with the square neck to it. Guess when weather improves I can go detecting for the missing parts.

About 11:00 am I went to the pharmacy. As I walked out of the house and to the van I heard a clap of thunder that filled the sky while it was still snowing hard. Weird.
