They are bulldozing the houses now. About 3 months ago I read where the city was buying out 14 homes and widening the street where they were. Eventually, the people moved out and I moved in. I worked the sites over & over many times and ended with 750 coins. Here's 6 Roosevelt silver dimes and 1 Washington quarter, 1951.

Also got 71 wheat cents - breaks down to one silver coin for every 10 wheats, about my usual ratio.

And I just knew there had to be a gold or silver jewelry item somewhere and I wasn't disappointed. The ring, missing stone, is 14 K and the 925 necklace is 22 inches long.

For recent coins I dug 578 pennies and 71 clad for a great total. And it all started by noticing a newspaper article in a column I don't usually read. Maybe I was meant to do it :) Steve in so az

Congrats Steve...the early bird gets the worm....errr I mean the early detectorist gets the coins! The problem with houses being torn down in the counties here...there are many in the area that get to them first and clean them out before others can get there! Goes the same for drained lakes where many have found lots of old silver coins and sinkers! Being a woman I just couldn't get to all of them being by myself and when I met other club members there...they didn't stay very long and left me alone, so I had to leave, especially, in North County...way too dangerous for anyone, let a woman, to be by themselves! Glad you read the notice and God blessed you with the silver and goodies! Great digs...ya done really well in coin count! Ma Betty

Glad you got in on those oldies!

as to water hole detecting - we only have one pond here & we did it some years back when they lowered it. Steve
