I am thinking about the weather lately and how we really haven't seen much of a spring or even an early summer. Seems we in Michigan have gone from winter back into winter missing most of the seasons in between.
We haven't had a lot of rain - maybe the occassional storm passing through but no typical spring showers that bring May flowers. Its been fairly cold with temps at night into the 30s and 40s and daytime maybe into the 50s.
With this kind of cool weather and here it is into the middle of May we don't see a lot of activity around the swimming places (beaches) and playgrounds at the parks. By now we would have expected to see bathers at the beach.
The weather is keeping people indoors - which in some aspects may be good (not the drive by booming automobiles with stereos blasting away or kids walking in the street daring one to hit them to prove thier masculinity or something) - and the playgrounds don't seem to have much to offer up due to the weather.
School playgrounds still seem to offer a bit since children are forced outside to play even if it is cold or chilly outside. There is a narrow window of opportunity in some cases to detect school playgrounds - when schools are not in session and working around a work schedule.
When I do try to get out or can get out, I try to look to playgrounds I have not hit before or knew of their existence. Hoping others with MDs have not been there before me and also hoping the parks people haven't removed the tree bark surface with new bark.
Last year the weather was rough on detecting too here. We had lots of rain which lead to flooding. The flooding lead to e-coli bacteria in the water so swimming and water detecting suffered.
Anyone else feel the effects of the weather on their detecting?
