"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" (Rom. 15:13, NKJV). How can you learn to better claim these promises? What attitudes or actions are holding you back?

One of the greatest health challenges we all face has to do with stress; it does not have to be with major traumas in life but with life in general, with the daily pressures that we so often face. Doctors report that up to 90 percent of patients they see come with stress-related complaints. Science has shown that when we are stressed, we release certain hormones that can affect various organs in our bodies. Over long periods of time, the organs can be weakened by these hormones, making them more susceptible to disease. Stress, for instance, can release adrenaline, which causes the heart to beat faster and more powerfully, leading to palpitations. Some stress hormones cause the blood vessels to constrict, causing hypertension. Stress can induce shallow and rapid breathing, even hyperventilation. Stress can result in the diversion of blood from the stomach, causing digestive problems. (Who has not felt what fear, anxiety, and worry can do to the stomach?) Stress can cause an increase in blood glucose, which in some people can lead to diabetes. Stress also is known to have a negative impact on our sleep, which in turn can have a negative impact on our overall health. Stress has been shown, too, to affect negatively our immune system, our body

Thank you for this post, Senior Seeker. I'm sure it spoke to many of us, but it got me especially good. At 29, I have several health conditions and I would say 75% of them are stress/anxiety related. I've been working really hard on giving it to god and day by day things are getting better. It has to be a concious effort....God will supply us with our every NEED, so why should I worry? There are so many things going on in our world to get stressed/worry about, but the truth is our worry won't help...it only hurts. GOOD POST!

God Jehovah is our protector, our provider and helps us through all things by faith and with prayer! Stress in a world full of sinfulness is difficult to overcome and to not worry unless we do have a personal relationship with our blessed Savior, Jesus, Who is our All in all! There is no true redemption from sin, problems, trials and in daily living without His guiding and comforting love! Let go and let God handle everything by doing what we ourselves can do and then stand on faith and allow Him to do the rest! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Liz - I like the one where the guy opens a closet door and throws his stress things in there for the Lord to handle. I have done that myself a few times, steve in so az

One guy, I was reading about after he came home from working, had a Trouble Tree and would hang all his troubles and problems during the day on it and then go into his home and family with peace and love! This is what having faith in Jesus can do for us! Without Jesus there is no true peace and happiness! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty
