Stuck Button

Anyone ever have any of the buttons stick on the Explorer?

The back button seems to be stuck or shorted on my XS.

I was out in a very light rain the other day and it may have gotten damp. That was 4 days ago though and it still does it. If it was wet I think it would have dried out by now.

Sounds like the button has worn out. Is it the backlight button or some other button, you really didn't specify which one it was? Also, do you use a meter cover for your detector when out in light mist or rain? If not, I strongly advise you to go and purchase one. They are only $15-$20 and that is a lot cheaper than having your detector fixed if it goes down on you. Hope you don't have a bad button and hope you figure it out.

Luckily it was the back button which is near a corner. I lifted the plastic face up with a thin blade and found out what the problem was. The switch is a tiny piece of spring metal that is held in place by the plastic face. I must have hit it and the metal piece shifted. For now I just removed the metal piece and wont worry about the back button. Ill glue the lifted edge back down.
