Stumped so far

Was hunting in a spring fed old swimming hole yesterday. These spots are tough on some metals due to the minerals in the spring water. For instance I pulled ten wheaties that were about 1/2 normal thickness but you can still tell what they are. Got a no date buff nickel as well and some silver. But here's the one I'm scratching my head on. It appears to be made of tin, not steel for sure and it doesn't look like old aluminum and the markings are just barely there now. Anyone ever seen something like this?

This area/depth was yielding stuff from the 1900-1930's era. I'm thinking maybe it was a token or ??

Thanks guys, I guess I had my mind on token and hadn't thought of that. Certainly could be!

No, no mining. Pretty much agricultural. Citrus and cattle with a little logging at one time.
