Success on the edge

Just an observation that may help...seems the "Main" areas of the beaches are really pounded, cant even find a pulltab, but the periphery still has some goodies. Same in the totlots or anywhere a metal detectorist may not go. I got this tiny silver necklace on the dry sand with the F70 along with @4bucks in clad, and got this 925 ring in the water with the CZ 20. Both in locations that would be considered not obvious spots a guy might sweep. Got another pretty nice silver ring this week outside the edge of the main swimming area. Been running my boat to unaccessible locations too, looking for signs of trails, or bonfires, or saddles in the dunes where folks may have crossed through once upon a time. We have just a few more weeks where the water will be comfortable enough to stay in it without a wetsuit or waders, so I'm making the most of it while I can. Going for the salmon this am, taking the detectors along too though, HH

Nice wooden boat mud, did you build it? Enjoyed the photos, thanks!

Mud, did you buy a boat to metal detect with because you got tired of walking??? Don't tell me! I know that movie star in the boat. He is a movie star from the silent movie era, right? Only kidding...:)....Nice boat Mud and some nice pic's. Great detecting and super finds. You are kind of thinking out of the box here. Will you do me a favor? When you are done with the box will you send it to me???? :wiggle:..... Happy Trails to you .......Z

Thanks fellas, I built this in 96 outta 3/8 ply, spruce, and epoxy..its 20' and thats a 15hp 4 stroke. Its my favorite boat to date..it will run in very shallow water, yet still able to go out on the Big Lake in the heavy stuff too. And yes Zeek, I am getting tired of walking in the sand every am!
