Summer time sweat?

Hello,

All right, all you expeirenced detectors, what do you do for summer time sweat? I wear glasses and when I bend over the sweat drips onto my lenses. I have been looking at some cellulose sweat bands, but, before I buy some I wanted to see if y'all had any better ideas.

Thanks,

Joe

Joe,

You cant wear that! Unless it comes in Camo, you cant do it; that looks ridiculous. While I am certainly no slave to fashion, I would draw the line on that piece of equipment.

Get a bandana or 2 and you'll be fine. Actually, I like to play ice hockey and we sweat alot. The 2 most common solutions? A Bandana or my preference, the doo rag under the helmet. Now most white guys can't pull this off (except the guy in Napoleon Dynamite), but under the helmet you never see it. Try one with a hat on and it'll work wonders, trust me..... I wring it out after the game and its highly absorbant. here's one in camo for 3$.

Yes, a bandana is just as effective. And much cooler looking...LOL !!

Heh, At this point in my life, looking cool is the least of my worries... :)

A bikers do-rag works well for me.

I wear glasses also and I just use the regular sports style sweatband. Keeps the sweat from drip'in in your eyes. That really burns like hell on a hot ass day! Plus I always take a plastic ice cream container full of fresh water with a wash towel so to speak so I can periodically go to the truck and wash my face to get all that nasty stuff off! It's a little extra time out of the day but to me it sure is worth it!

I really cut down on land hunting in the summer - too hot and the ground is too hard and it's not good for the grass. Summer is the time to get in the water and look for jewelry which can help pay for new detectors plus you stay cool. The good thing about water hunting is that good stuff is always getting lost.

Sorry, I meant to say skull cap, not doo rag.....a bit different
