I gut out with the "wreckraider" for a couple hours Sunday afternoon to our War of 1812 camp. Snow melted & spot was actually "bootstickin'" like England. We each gut a copper, & here's my best 2 pieces for the day. The 1853 Largie is a good example of what fertilizer can do But the button is another nice 1812 Artillery.......HH, Bill

Have yet to find a US large cent , doubt many made it out West , especially into Southern Alberta, possibly at a Whiskey Fort or tow, definately on my "want to find list". Found a seated half dollar, a seated half dime and a nickel 3 cent peice at a whiskey fort in the past so you never know.

if you found those Seated coins where you are I would say you have a good shot at one! It's definately a nice thing to shoot for.....
Any plans to go to Colchester again?

that whiskey fort sounds like an interesting site! HH, Mike

Will be there over the Easter break.About 10 weeks but who's counting. Hoping to have at least a few weeks hunting before I go to get back in swinging shape. Can't wait m8!!

Yeah, I got a coinstrike at the end of summer in a trade for an extra Garrett 1500. I haven't put enough time in on it yet but those that use it like it a lot so will give it a shot. Didn't know you swung one? Nice finds lately, I'd be green with envy if I wasn't so damnn.. c-c-c-old. -20 the last two weeks here with a foot of snow. Take Care

Nice finds bill how deep were the coin and button ?????

I bought a used Fisher CZ7A from one of the guys here. Haven't received it yet, probably another week or so. Hope I get to try it out before winter gives us a rude awakening! I'll see how I like it then maybe next year move up to the Coinstrike, I know they are different machines but bottom line is depth! I have to dig all trash signals as many of my coin finds signal as trash. HH, Mike

it was a field that was once plowed. So probably they were plowed up to maybe 4" or so....

Rod is waiting to the last hunt to take away the coin title again LOL
Regards
Chris
