First time out in quite a while. Visited an old trashy 1890's lot. Used the hockey puck and dug a lot of wine bottle caps and the usual junk and a few modern coins. Got this interesting decorative piece that attaches to something. Looks like its brass or bronze maybe. Anyone have any ideas? Its about 3 inches high. Hoping this motivates me to get out more.

Assuming it was found in a northern climate my guess would be what they call a snow eagle. .. they were mounted on the lower edge of a sloped roof as to hold frozen ice and snow onto the roof so it doesnt slide off causing damage to property or person... however they were almost always made out of cast iron..

Found on the west coast. I've never heard of a snow eagle but I Googled it. Not quite the same as the online pics but interesting. Thanks.
