Sunday morning I went back to the place that I did real good at last Thur. I'm not going to say too much about this place besides it's a park. I had a lil game plan and that was to work a lil harder on nickel signals because the last time I was there I didn't find any nickels and boy did that pay off. I found " 2 " 10k gold rings. The first one I found it looks huge but it is real thin. On that ring I would get a real fast double hit one way and a soft and weak signal the other way. The numbers were jumping from 9 to 15. The band is broke on the bottom and I have noticed this year with all the silver rings that I have found that had the band broke I would get a real fast double hit. The second ring I found was a 1948 Girls Class Ring and I found that one about 5 min's after I found the first one and I'm not joking. On the Class Ring the numbers were jumping from 15 to 27 but just like the other one the tones were smooth. Also just like most pull tabs, sta tabs and can slaw, lol
Just a lil while after finding the rings a guy come to the park to spray for weeds so I went up to him and told him what I found and if he knew of anybody that might have a 1948 year book. He called the lady 2 houses over from where we were, she said she had one and to come on over. It wasn't too hard finding her in the book, their was only 9 ppl in the class of 48. She told me her married name and she was pretty sure she was living up in Minneapolis Mn. This morning I did a lil research on the Net " what would we ever do with out Google " and I got a phone number. I called it and talked to some lady and told her who I am and that I was out MDing yesterday and found a class and that I was looking for Mary xxxxx. She said hold on and then I could hear her talking to someone about what I told her and then I could hear that other person say, OH I don't want it, he can keep it and she repeated it to me. A few min's after talking to her I got thinking that maybe I might not have the right Mary so I called her back and asked her what school she went to just to make sure I found the right lady and she told me the name of the school on the ring. I told her that I was sorry to bother her and hung up. I tried to return it but I guess it's mine now.
While I was talking to the lady on Sunday that lived across the street from the park , she said that she was surprised that I was finding anything because she has seen a lot of ppl MDing at this park over the years and the parks guy said the same thing too. I sure would like to know what brand of MDer they were using because I don't want to buy one of those, lol.
Here's all the coins I found.
a 57d Benny, a 1902 Barber Quarter, "2" no date SLQ's and one has a S mint mark, '2" Washington Quarters a 41d, 45, a 1908o Barber Dime, "3" Merc's 23, 25, 43s, "2" Rosies, 57d, 61d, a No Date Buff, a 42s war Nickel, a 1894 IH, "7" crusty Wheat's and some other things.
I don't thing I will ever have another day as good as this one.
Thanks for lookin.
