Managed to get out today for a couple of hours. Got a couple of eagles and a worn smooth half dime. The button in the upper right is how we usualy find them around here, sad shape. Don't really know what the iron triangle is, it is beveled on all sides, nice key hole cover from a padlock and a knapsack hook and a couple of bullets to boot!!!.....Mark

NIce finds. Mark do you do most of your relic hunting in the woods or fields?

Most of the time in hayfields where the camps were. I have found quite a bit where I hunted today and I think there is alot more, ya just gotta go slow because of all of the iron. All of the big iron I found today gave a good high tone in the high 30's & 40's ID. Alot of the targets were found in the same hole as the square nails. If I get a low & high tone together, I dig it. I run in all metal, 2 tone because if I run any disc on the iron, I have missed buttons lying next to a nail. Yes, I dig alot of iron but I also get the targets that are gonna be missed with high disc. I also use DD coils like the 10.5 and the 6"HF. I was using the big DD HF coil today.........

Looks like a hoot of a place to hunt!

Sweet finds, I am pretty jealous of the buttons and bullets. I am about to purchase a 705 for some relic adventures. I live in Germany now but when I get back to the States I def plan on getting into some CW hunting. If you have any advice on relic hunting with the 705 it would be much appreciated. Good luck in your future hunts!

Thanks, If you check the FAQ section above, I have a write up on relic hunting....HH Mark
