Sunday's results with the T2 SE

2 Much Trash

Well-known member
Really had no hopes of finding anything at all Sunday, but my honey do list was empty for a change and was able to get in a few hours of digging. Went to an old spot that has been hunted to death by everybody and his brother for the past 40 years. I've had the T2 for a couple of months and decided what the heck, Ill go back there again, this time with the T2 and see what happens. When I got there, there were old dig holes, new dig holes. fresh uncovered holes everywhere. Almost decided to go someplace else but my time was limited. Knew I couldn't cherry pick this spot so I set disc at 10, BP mode, and adjusted sensitivity anywhere between 60 and 75 depending how close I got to the power lines. Any iron signal I got that had the slightest hint of a high tone mixed in I dug it. There's not much here to brag on as far as finds go, but I sure can brag on the T2 for hitting on these targets in a spot thats been hunted as hard as this one has. :beers:

Thats some nice healthy digging, for sure. Great job with the T 2 from a hard hunted spot. HH jim tn

WOW!!! That's a nice haul.

How deep were the bullets? Was it masking or depth that kept them hidden so long?

Nice cw hunt. I use a T2se also & I like it. I use the 15"/12"SEF coil. Talk about deep. HH

Really nice finds..

Thanks Digger, I know you swing one too, you're one of the reasons I got mine. Read all you're posts. You've about sold me on the 15" SEF you rascal. Here's to ya :beers:

Thanks Elton,
I took you're advise not to over analyze the T2 and just let it to its job. That advise is paying off.

Thanks Pal, I know you just got your T2 recently also, and you've been tearing up some relics. The bullets, shell casings and fuse were all 10 to 12 inches down. The percussion caps only a few inches. I think the biggest reason this stuff was still there to be found is no ones hunted it with a T2 SE LOL. Other than that I think its because of a combination of factors. Relics that are still in the ground are there because of depth and they are mask by bits of small iron, foil, the hugh power lines just yards away, and hot ground. Most all ground around this area ground balances in the low 60's. This spot ground balances in the mid 70's. I don't know about you but when I first get to a spot I'm full of energy, hunt close and really pay attention to all tones. But after several hours I start getting tired and sloppy and end up digging only the best tones and high numbers. I didn't do that this time. Like I stated ,I set disc at 10, used BP, and adjusted sensitivity as needed and swept the coil nice and slow, but not too slow. Everything you see in the picture started out as an iron grunt, reading below 40 with just a little high tone blip that read just for a split second in the 60's and 70's. I decided to dig those. The more dirt I removed the wider the high tone got and the higher the numbers got until the iron grunt was gone. And there deep in the hole was a goodie I would have certainly past up had I not trusted what the machine was telling me. It sure does know more about whats in the ground than I do. I think from now on I'm just gonna follow this dude around, and if he says dig, I'm gonna dig.

Some good information on the readings you chose to dig. I was just wondering if you were using the 5" coil. I have had great success with mine in trashy, heavily hunted sites
