Sunny day in Fla

We were looking for rain today when me and my friend Gil headed out for 4 1/2 hour hunt today. But it turned out to be cloudy and breezy... nice 80 degree day. We hit what we hoped was going to be an older ball field in an old town here in the middle of Fla. Got some pretty bad EMI from all the transformers and power lines.... and the dirt was packed HARD. Made for some real digging challenges especially when you got a deep one. Even with the EMI we still were having to dig 6 or so inches for coins. I came away with 3 wheats and a burned merc (1942). It aint pretty, but its number 9 for the year. Ended up with $6.31 in change. Mo money mo money. As you noticed i didnt get nearly as many pennies as usual. For some reason dimes were really ringing high today.

Bobby.... down here is gold country. Most are looking for those gold rings and things. If the silver dont fall on something like roots in the sand .... it gets gone fast. Anyone notice their SE having penny or dime days? Some days you can find a ton of dimes.... other days its pennies that seem to be the thing. It appears to have to do with the depth. I know some are going to say you find whats there. Ive notice i have to raise the coil to get a better reading on the two coins... it might be because i have my coin on the ground.

Nice finds Dew...and yes...some days my SE is dialed in on certain coins more than others.

Not sure how or why...but it does happen.

Im waiting on the day it gets REAL dialed in on just 50 cent pieces. Likely the same day ill get struck by lightning.

Eddie.... great weather this year compared to last. It warmed up quickly and has only rained a couple of times since i been here. Like anywhere thou you have to do some research, which i havent. So im hunting a lot of the spots everyone hunts. I spent several years in the service in GA so i like this warm weather. BUT... i sure miss the dirt and the surprises it brings. Im starting to see some of my hunting buddies up North being able to get out more ... looks like its going to be another good year for silver up there.

Believe me GR... the sun and warmth is worth MUCH more than the few coins im finding.
