Ive just order a sunray probe for my fisher f70 has anyone tried it out and do you like it. I did read it can make your detector less stable any experience would be appreciated

Happy hunting

I got one on my F-70 and I like it,I don't how you could tell if its unstable, mine was unstable before I put it on. I run mine sense 99, 4h tones ,Disc,0 threshold 6 (gain) with a 11 DD coil so mine is what some people would call unstable I call it Smoking! HH :detecting:

I have had my Sunray for about 2 weeks on my F70 .It has not affected my machine at all ,but when I forget to flip the toggle back over to coil, which u will do at least once.U will be ready to box up your machine and on the way home frustrated u look over and see the toggle flipped to probe. After u get past this u will not leave home without it on your machine .

I have one on my F75 and don't notice any interference at all... You're gona love the probe, especially with the bigger coils... Sure is cool to have the 1" coil and large coil attached to the same machine and both making the same sounds... I've also forgotten to switch from probe back to coil... Don't tell anyone, but I even tried to ground balance with the switch on probe  ... Keep in mind, the whole length of probe gives signals and not just the end with the red cap...

just got my probe buts it raining so cant try it typical allways the way just wondering is there a trick you can do like with the garrets probe by putting a piece of metal near it to get more depth not that im complaining about the depth but cant wait to get out there but the weather forecast looks not too good this easter weekend

happy hunting

:lmfao: Robert!!! I won't tell if you don't...LOL!! I had a Sunray on my old DFX and I had plenty of "forgot to flip the switch" and ground balance attempts with the switch set to probe. Gotta admit though.....you just can't argue about how quiet the detector runs when you're swingin' with the switch on the wrong side....LOL!!!

martinfabio, one more thing I've noticed about the probe, the sensitivity sure plays a big role on probe depth...

That's right Dave... I've done that one as well even to the point I checked the battery strength as the F75 sure was quiet for a while :detecting: ...

Has anyone been able to ground balance using the probe? I could see this being useful in trashy areas where "clean ground" is hard to find. I've tried it and can't get the GB number to change when performing a fast grab ground balance on my F75 LTD.
