Sunray X 12 or the minelab 11 inch pro coil

I have heard a lot of good reports on the Minelab 11 inch pro coil, while I have a Sunray x-12 coil. Are there any advantages of the 11 pro coil worth me selling the Sunray X-12 to get the 11 inch pro coil. Does the 11 pro coil have anymore punch or would the 12 do the same or better ? What does the pro coil weight compared to the Sunray ?

I've never used the Sunray x-12. I have the Explorer and have recently started using the pro coil. I had almost quit detecting because the local parks had all been Explorerized and the silver had quit flowing. The first 3 hunts that I used the pro coil this year I found 1 silver half, 6 silver quarters, 5 silver dimes and 1 silver nickle. Most were found in moderate junk, 5-10 signals per swing. It may work well in heavy junk, but I can't. 2 of the dimes were 10-12", but were laying flat. That's in nice, moist black soil with mowed grass. I don't believe that it goes any deeper than the original coil, but it definitely sees through junk better. It's hard to belive that I missed a silver half and 6 silver quarters. It's almost as easy to swing as the Sunray 8" coil.

I did go through the phantom signal stage last year, so on the 1st hunt this year I had the sensitivity turned down. About half way through the hunt I realized that I hadn't found anything deep so I cranked the sensitivity up and found 3 silver dimes. 2 were 10-12" and the other one was on edge. But I'm not digging phantom signals this year. I'm not sure why. My guess is that I had to put some time in and develop an ear for it. The pro coil sounded a bit different to me.The bottom line for me is that if I had to give up my pro coil, I would quit detecting.

no big different if coils are good, but with pro you will loose less money on resale. I use 1000 or 1050 and dont want to change to any. good luck
