Sunray X12 on Explorers, how do you like it? Better then 11" pro?

I have taken my Explorer with the 12 inch Sunray coil down to the beach. Santa Monica California. I was running the sensitivity a little lower. I was really surprised at the small things I was finding. (first time I found a Gold necklace) at this beach. I run it all the time, but I find that I have to lower the sensitivity on it. I use it more than the stock coil. The stock coil I have to raise the sensitivity.

The field test I did on the 12" Sunray which is posted in my link is NOT thorough...and that is because the complete, and very thorough report will be published in the June issue of Western & Eastern Treasures Magazine which comes out in about 3 weeks....so I can't say anything further on it at this time.

That's probably what Frank was referring to.

Same as to the X-5 link in that field test post. It is very vague as I was not allowed to state any details...only what was found in the first hunt I did.

The May issue with that complete X-5 test is out right now...and I'm hoping I will be allowed to copy that report from the magazine...and update the link I have posted before long.

I will take a chance and ruffle some feathers here....There is no better coil for the Etrac or SE in the size range of the 11 inch PRO. Mine Lab hit that nail squarely on the head. It is a retarded thing that that ML doesn't make similar design coils as the Pro in different sizes. The size class I am referring to is The ML PRO 11, SR12, SEF 10x12, and the Excellerator 12 and elliptical 10 x14. All are about the same size coils and one should think that their weight, separation, depth, and max sensitivity Stable should be about equal.

The lightest of them is the Pro 11
The best separation goes to the Pro
The highest stable sensitivity goes to the Pro and therefore the best overall depth
Closest deep coil that also provided unreal separation for it's size was the Excellerator 10 x 14

If Mine Lab had not introduced the Pro 11 coil for the SE, SE sales would have fell like a rock off a ten story building with the introduction of the Etrac. That coil alone, has kept the SE comparable to the faster, quicker responding, Etrac.

I own and use every coil made for the SE and Etrac...however, I own 4 of the Pro 11 coils.

....And thank you for the kind words you stated below about the time and effort spent testing coils. I appreciate it.
