I went back to the old farm I spoke of last time where I found the crusty 1840's Large Cent and the crotal bell.
My plan was to hit the woods to explore and find some areas that had signs of activity. Well, I found a couple areas with some trash, but had only dug a couple non-iron targets in the first 1 1/2 hours.
I started getting more junk signals as I got closer to what I believe was an old spring. Just above the spring, I got an ok signal that bounced into the low 80's. There was junk around so I moved the coil a bit more to see what was near-by and got a solid 77 about 6" away and 6" deep.
I dug down and found the target. I tried to take an on-site pic of it, but had forgotten to put the SD chip back in the phone
This is what I found

1856 Seated dime
Then I went back to the 80's signal and found this 1853 Large Cent
( the front is kind of corroded, but that's life
)

After finding those two, I expanded the hole and the dx-1 found this 1858 3 cent piece

The last coin I found was this 1857 Flying Eagle cent.

This place isn't good to the coppers, but it's still fun finding them
Later on I found a flat button with a hole in it, but that was it for today. I will return to this place
(WITH A CAMERA NEXT TIME
)
Here's everything... Silver still uncleaned.

Makes me wonder about the person who dropped these coins. The newest being 1858. Could have been dropped during the Civil War.
Gotta love this hobby
Thanks for lookin
Matt
