It's not coming any more, because it (the cheque) just got here today. It's finally here. I hunted for many years, sorted and removed all my gold finds, packaged them and sent them to a precious metal recycler about a month ago. I have been anxiously waiting to see how much it would be. My cheque turned out to be a whopping $9,387.80.

My Garrett metal detectors got over 90% of the gold that I sent to be turned into cash. Garrett "ROCKS!"..... My wife, 4 kids and I held back some of the nicer jewellery, and the amount shown is what was left from all the many gold items found on land, snow and in the water.

I cashed in on my gold recently, as the price got up to over $1,400, and I figured it was time. Will it go higher? Time will tell, and it depends who you talk to.
ARA is one of the best places to send your gold items into. They give you 98% of the current spot value for gold for that particular day. Here's a link to the ARA in case you want some more information:

And...what will I buy? A Car for my lovely wifey :cheekkiss:

Looks like you can afford a few extra AT pros now. Cashed in a cople years worth last year got a little over $3000 for mine. It adds up quick.
Nice work.

Very nice John! That's a few ounces of the precious stuff.
I thought you were the 'ring leader' around hear, stirinng up the troops.
Mick Evans.

That's amazing! So what are you going to do with your new pile of money? I'd use some of that to fly somewhere warm and get my detecting fix!

John, how did you start the process, I want to send mine out but don't know where to start, I want to use ARA, do you guys think it's OK to melt gold coins, or should I save them, thanks

Way to go, John! I do mine once a year, or once every other year. I always pick out the best items too. $1400/ounce is a great price, even if it continues to rise.

Nice of you to treat the wife. Maybe a new car, and a new detector? I know you have plenty of those, though.

Good for you!

Chris
