Sure Miss my Red Baron 7

That's about it. I just miss that machine. The RB-7 was an excellent machine back in the mid '80's. I kept up with all the White's guys in our club. It made me a believer, gave me confidence. I have been lacking that even when I bought a Whites Eagle Spectrum in the mid 90's, and a Tesoro Silver uMax recently. I sure miss that RB-7, had to whip it like crazy, but it sure found the goodies.

Anyone else own an RB-7?

Nestor how do you like your tesoro silver umax, they are realy cool looking. was going to get one but changed my mind, they seem very easy to use, is it user freindly to ground balance.

Hope you don't mind me butting in. The Silver is a preset ground balance. It is user friendly and a good general purpose machine.

Has any one used dollar store 9v batteries in there MD. and if so, do they last for a time. thanks.

I have used the dual pack eveready batteries at Walmart for 97cents and they last a couple of days w/headphones. I just ordered and received Tenery rechargeables and the first pack is almost recharged.

I guess we are getting off topic here, but I never use the cheap batteries, here's why! I always use top of the line Energizers or Copper tops and have had batteries die on me while hunting in a great spot. Not having any spares put me out of detecting for the rest of the day. That's sad here I travelled several miles to get to this place and I didn't have any spare batteries with me. Never again I always carry spare batteries with Me and no cheap junk either you get what you pay for and some day it will happen to you, your cheap batteries that don't normally carry any kind of shelf life will die on you in a great spot.
Always be prepared use quality batteries or rechargeable and carry lots of spares, the same can be said about spare headphones you never know when your regular ones will cut out one you!
Like a Girl Guide or Cub or Scout always be prepaired!

And as far as the Red Baren RB7 no I seen it many times in the magazines but never bought one, I ended up with a Tesoro 6 knob-er instead, and I knew someone who swore by his RB7 and yes he also found many nice goodies.
