Sure would like to hear more about the Omega and Gamma...

Has anyone been using them? How do you like them? How do they compare with the T-2?

I have used The Omega a few hours now. I am pretty happy with it. I love the weight and balance. In just a couple hours I cleaned up on clad. I was going to play with the Omega awhile, then sell it, but I have decided to keep it. That is how much I like it

I really like the knobs. The ground balance display looks good too.

but I'm thinking that when the DD coil comes out it will be some serious competition for the T2 for hunting iron infested sites. Plus the 8" round concentric coil will work on the Omega and I prefer those over elliptics. The performance of the Gamma and 8" round coil is exceptional according to someone I trust explicitly.

getting the Gamma to get the round coil (don't like elliptical coils either) but will rethink that if the round coil will fit the Omega. Thanks for that bit of information Jackpine Savage.

and I really like it. It seems to have T-2 like speed and as you mentioned, this is pretty much the only game in town with T-2 speed and a round concentric coil. It has produced in ways that others I have don't. I'd be glad to answer any additional specific questions either by pm or on here.

I've never taken the Gamma and a CZ out at the same time so I can't really give you real accurate data. I have owned all but two of the CZ versions but no longer have any. Yes, the Gamma can get CZ type depth. I've dug coins the depth of a Predator 75 digger. That was in pretty wet ground.

starts to feel a little heavy after a while. May have to try the Gamma. Thanks for the info.

The swinging weight and feel of the Gamma and it's siblings are second to none IMO as well as VERY respectable performance and as simple of an interface as I've ever seen for a nice medium level price.
