Surfmaster PI - any chance it will do well in freshwater?

hibby

New member
I've heard both good and bad about the surfmaster PI in freshwater - can anyone tell me if I could expect to do at least reasonably well in freshwater only?

Thanks

it will work fine in fresh water, but be ready to dig a lot of junk as they don't discriminate like the VLF's.a better choice would be a Fisher 1280X CZ20/21 ,Excalibur,or a Tesoro Tiger Shark.iv owned all of these and they work well.

Hello Hibby,
I'm using a Garrett Sea Hunter XL 200 PI in the dry, now.
It has an Eliminator control on it which I've just left set very low.

Digging all kinds of interesting bits of iron that I've never come across much with my vlf's.

Will take it to both fresh, and salt very soon.
HH
