Hope you can nab one more silver to round out the take for the year FWC. But if thats to be it, one hell of a find to close with. Congrats on the Walker, IMO the most beautiful coin ever minted. And yours is in excellent shape. Well done. I was lucky enough to find one this year, it was deep very crusty and masked pretty well. Cleaning junk out the hole while chasing Ihp/zincoln numbers when it popped out. Nice surprise, as was yours. Thats a fun part of the hobby, digging those unexpected keepers. I found one a few years ago and the signal was very crappy, but I decided to dig anyway … just one of those signals that intrigues me sometimes.. it was under a couple of roots and I started probing around trying to get whatever it was out.
I kept prying under the roots and all of a sudden I saw a silver disc pop out from under the root and land on the ground on the ground.
After I realized what it was, I figured it was probably all gouged up from my Lesche digger, but to my surprise, it did not have a mark on it! Like yours, this one was also partially masked by a rusty nail and had a.rust stain on it.
The one I found this time was an easy find compared to the one you found…congrats!!!
