T2 and Relics

Hello, I get it, can someone explain this? Thanks

From user manual:

If you are searching for relics, you can make a map of the soil of the site. Make a grid of the
site. Then collect data. Ground Cancel to document mineral type; view mineral amount on the
Fe3O4 bar graph. Then plot the data on the site map and draw isolines. In this way you may
be able to locate areas which have been dug, backfilled, or subjected to fire. This information
in turn helps to reveal the history of the site

Basically what they are trying to explain is by taking ground mineral readings in a given area it may give you a hint as to where past occupation/relic sites could possibly be located. Electronic prospectors will sometimes use ground readings in order to trace down black sand deposits because they can sometimes be associated with gold. Hope this helps explain a bit!

Ground disturbances can at times give you a different ground mineral reading on your visual display...what caused this disturbance? Burn areas can also possibly read different and sometimes this can be a clue to slow down and turn yours ears on for a possible past occupation site:)
