T2 Control Box.

Hi folks,

I have noticed for the first time the my control box will flex a little from side to side but not forward and backwards.

Are your T2`s the same in this respect as I have only used mine a few times as my son and my detecting partner always seem to be using it.

Its time they pushed the boat out anf bought one each.:rofl:

Thanks,Jerry.

Yes, that's another design flaw. I attribute it to the way the handle is fabricated. The control box is mounted on the handle at the top with a single srew which makes it a three piece handle. It is not thick enough and that's why it "flexes". Take a 2" x 4" and lay it flat. It will flex. Turn it on edge and then see what happens. Simmilar scenario. I'm preparing a modification that I will be performing soon to solve some of these issues. Will post my results in a few weeks.

Yes the control box will flex corner wise.the reason being the box has a piece of plastic coming out of it thats looks like a pop-sicle stick that slides into the handle and held by a screw through the handle. So its going to flex when pushing the corners but not front to back.I'll assure you it will not break.

Now the old handles would break at the bottom were they flared out to conform around the pole.In actuality they were awful they would flex just swinging the detector the whole handle would lean at the end of the sweep when you reversed it to go the other way.

the new handles that the f-75 and now the t-2 are using are much better no flexing at all seems to have some sort of fiber in the plastic but the meter will still flex on a corner push but it will not break just flex this might be a good thing to keep from snapping it off sort of a shock absorbing device if you will.

plus 've never heard of the first problem of anyone loosing there box.I flipped my 4-wheeler on top of a t-2 and the control box went in the dirt and no problems whatsoever.

I believe were good to go.
