This old Ladies signet ring is 18ct and proves to the doubters that the T2 will find gold.:thumbup:Jerry.

Curious post JBM?

Tell me who ever said that the T2 would not be able to find Gold?

Do you have a particular commentator in mind?

I've never read a post that said so, and no static tests personally done, give reason to doubt its abilities on such targets.

That said, it does not preclude all possible scenarios that the real world of detecting has in store for us in the field.

As is normal, the only situation I can quickly bring to mind is that of the bogey man, 'iron masking'.

Now if someone described a particular set of conditions that may be affecting the detectability of gold items by the T2, then we would have some basis for contemplation and discussion.
Otherwise I sense the comment was more rhetorical than informative ......MattR.UK

Just a figure of speech from a very pleased detectorist who usually keeps away from beaches where they are found in abundance and this ring came from well inland.

With that in mind we don't get gold very often in the fields where I live but I did find a exceptional 1842 Sovereign a few months back which I have given to the farmers wife as a thank you present.

That coin came from well down with another world famous detector but it was very satisfying to see the T2 also do the business with the yellow metal.:thumbup:Jerry.

WTG Jerry!

Bet that was a pleasnet surprise :)

Congrats,
