T2 LTD:confused: question

Is anyone having problems with their LTD? Just received it Thursday and having a major problem.. At first I thought it was the batteries, so I went and bought two different name brands and the same thing kept happening. So I checked the battery contacts but they seem fine.. After varying amounts of time the screen goes blank but the tones and so forth still work.. Turn it off and back on and it works normally , I think (new detector haven't used it enough to know).. Seems unstable..I swore I wouldn't buy another FTP but the T2 LTD seemed like a great detector and FTP has come a long ways since then.. I had a very bad experience wit 2 problem F75's.. I sold 2 very nice detectors to purchase this.. I'm a bit frustrated as this is the end of the season here and now have to deal with this.. Help!!
Thanks,
Ray

Richard, thank you and no need apologize,as you always make it right!!

If you were so sure Richard would take care of your problem, what are you doing on this page complaining about the detector. Common sense would dictate that you phone up your selling dealer first with a problem. There again, maybe you like seeing your words in print. :rofl:

Actually I was looking for help in case I overlooked a simple fix.. Someone with 3 post has nothing better to do except to harass.. Go somewhere else with your ridicule!! Here members HELP members... Just looking for a little help or suggestions what to try to avoid sending it in.. I knew Richard or FTP would make it right!! Richard is sending another one so I won't have to wait..I like the machine just want it to work.. Headshed22 I do believe your the one to see your unhelpful harassment in print!!:thumbdown:

I think anyone that reads these posts knows what you are!!

Cosmic, you were right to ask the forum just in case you there may have been a simple solution to check for first. But as you can see, Richard reads these forums and goes beyond the call of duty to make things right. Even a new car can have it's issues up front.

The new T2 is getting rave reviews and I hope you get to join in on the action soon.

Dan

From what I have seen, this is one DEEP machine!!! If I could change one thing is they should of used the 3 tones for dp and cl.. Wouldn't have to look at the screen when running in the trash.. Other then that looking to be a great machine.. Love the 3 tone because the nickels come in as a high tone...Just weird that the screen went blank and everything else still worked.. Probably just a bad connector...heres some VDI# from some of my collection..
57= V nickel
69= flying eagle
74=$5 gold
75=3 cent silver
82= 2 cent

The fact that they limited the T2 LTD to only 2 tones in boost and cache mode is exactly why I went with the F75 LTD. Pitty I was looking forward to testing a T2 LTD, but as it stands they pretty much turned the T2 LTD into a relic hunter (can't imagine having my eyes glued to the screen all day long).

Enjoy your T2, Richard's a great dealer to deal with.

Richard is a great guy I bought the other T2 LTD he had in stock, but realised the warrantee was of no use in the Uk.

Quite upsetting really.

Richard refunded me no questions asked what a great guy

So cosmic you have the detector that I was going to get, good luck with it.

As for me we can not get these in the Uk all sold out :confused:

So i am going for an E-trac which will find me the deep medieval silver i am looking for.

If you first get a detector and it's not working right the first thing most of us would think would be "is there something wrong with the detector, or am I doing something wrong?"

This forum is for sharing all things detecting: experiences, detectors, tools, finds, tips, techniques, frustrations, etc.

I really can't see any problem with Ray's post.

If I was in Ray's shoes I'd also want to get opinions from some of the top notch dirt fishers using the LTD before bothering my dealer, just in case I was doing something wrong but was too dumb to realize it.

And of course Richard came through :thumbup:as he always does.

I tried all the things I've learned over the last 40 years of using detectors to correct the trouble. I had bought it from KellyCo and called them to report the trouble I was having in case they knew of a fix. They sent me a return pick up slip from UPS and sent out the new detector right away. Since we had the same problem with the new machine it seems Tecnetics has some kind of "Snafu" with a few of them. I have delt with Kellyco for years and never had a problem with any service from them, they stand behind everything they sell at a good price. I've hunted with the old T2 for 2 years and it's a SUPER machine. I can't wait to get into some of my old spots with the LTD. I bet there is a lot of good items still in the ground.

Trocar may I ask why that username ? its only because I make medical screws etc and the point is called a "Trocar" and just wondered why that ?

is also an Embalming instrument for aspirating fluid from hollow organs. I'm a mortician and use one all the time, so I figured it would be a good nickname. It might have been more fitting if I had chosen the name "Digger" since I've been hunting since 1968.

I'm glad I read your post last week Ray. I picked my T2 up here in England today. I'd driven 100 miles to get it and a friend nearby promised me a day out. Got in the field, and within 30 seconds I had exactly the same problem. All audio working but the screen just went blank. I thought of your post immediately. I tried a different coil, changed the batteries but it would only reset when switched off and on again and then go blank after a few moments. Luckily I went straight back to the dealer who had just on unit left (the last in the country!). This one works fine. Abviously a few duffers knocking around.
