I know your thinking why post such meager finds.. If you saw the Trash area I was detecting..you would know it was because of the T2 abilities that I found anything..Could not ground balance for lack of clear area...Yet the 2 did her thing..Picked out some good in the bad...Both finds at 6" depths.

the T2 can really pick through some heavy trash. I had the sense at 40 De mode tone 2.......Discrimination at 40

Nice job. I am just getting used to my T2 and I have a question relating to your post. Most of the parks around me are very trashy like you described. Of course the T2 being so quick it is giving me many signals in those areas. How clear did you hear the tone where you dug these? Was it just one good tone mixed equally among poor ones, or did it just jump out much clearer than the rest?

Thanks for your help.

On the ring it jumped out a sweeter sounding beep, On the Wheat cent it was several good tones as I swept over the area left to right..right to left was all iron signal. It was enough difference that I dug it, and so will you once you get used to all the targets the T2 hits in the ground. It hits targets that only the F75 will hit compared to other detectors..
The 2 really hits the Silver hard..You can hear a difference and the ID flashes in the right number area briefly when in heavy trash..

Thanks so much for the help. I only began detecting on fathers day so I am very green. I really like the T2 a lot and when I was away on vacation last week I spent some time detecting at my sisters property and it worked like a dream. I even found a 1906 Barber quarter and a few wheat pennies! However at home my only choices are the local parks and schools and they seem to be very littered with trash. So most often I am getting so many poor signals in amongst the good sounding ones that I am very unsure when to dig or not. The ironic part is I don't even mind digging the trash because I love the hobby so much ( I am addicted already), but I feel funny digging so many holes in the public parks so I am hoping to get better at gauging best when to dig.

Steven, on 50's and 60's era sites, those that probably don't have the potiential for older types of coins such as Indian Head cents, I use 3 tones and listen for the high tones and high tone tic's. Some trash items such as can slaw will give a high tone, but the vid is usually bouncy and in short order you will be able to tell the difference. Can slaw as a rule doesn't get to deep, so be sure to dig all deep high tones in the 3 tone mode. Good luck. HH jim tn
