T2 on the beach

Rosey

New member
As a newcomer to the T2 I am having great results on land so far but
I am having a few days beach detecting for the first time next month
and would be grateful for any advice, particular ground balancing in
both wet and dry sand.
Many thanks.

Hey Rosie,

The T2 is a very hot detector on the beach. As far as wet sand, she will be a little crazy but you can manually adjust you ground balance on either side of 50. Something as low as 5 or as high as 95, depending on the polarity of you mineralization but the other problem is the surf. Do not get the control box near salt water - or you will be sending it in for service.

I just got back from the beach and the only problem I had was with bottle caps. You can operate in the bottle cap mode or listen really close and watch you meter and you can keep from digging them. Be ready to dig and I mean deep! I dug a quarter at almost 2 feet, no joke so you better bring a sand scoop.

About what were the ground balance settings in wet sand, if you might recall. I haven't had my T 2 to the beach yet, but my F 75 ground balanced in the wet sand under 15 and usually under 10... manually, of course. Thanks, HH jim tn
