t2 pinpointing

if you look on the bottom of the coil there is a small circle. when the sgnal is the loudest it should be right under that circle. some one else on the forum pointed this out.

Are you pulling the trigger to pinpoint? Mine pinpoints very exact. I use a pocket uniprobe and it is alway's right where the T2 say's it is. Does it do this on strong hits or iffy hits? I have had targets seem to disappear. That is usually due to thinking an iron false is a good target.
Check in all-metal and see if there are actually two iron targets off to each side of what seem's to be a good target. That scenario will sound like a good target but there will be nothing there and it will not pinpoint correctly. Like two nails 8 or 10 inches apart, in the middle you will get a hit that seem's to be something good, it's a false. Maybe that is what you are getting?

I adjust my pinpoint to about 75. Just pull the trigger and turn the knob. This also helps me pinpoint small objects that are over 5" deep.

Another cool feature of the T-2...

when do you do this adjustment. when you're pinpointing or when you're setting the machine up. i didn't know it had this feature. thanks.

Targets that disappear when pin-pointed, are cold rocks (One that has magnetic qualities but virtually zero conductance)......MattR.Uk
