T2 Se 5"coil

Flintstone

Well-known member
I just got my T2 today and went to a field for about 1hr. This field i had hit 5 or 6 times and took a friend there, i didn,t think there was anything but junk left. We used some top of the line detectors there, but i found 3 quarters, two dimes, 5 pennies of which 3 were Wheat's. These were all down about 7" and all the junk was there to. The T2 pick out the coins. Now i was using the 11" dd coil, Dose the 5" get much depth? It is still in the bag that it came in, and if it don,t do good i will not open it. I have some old parks full of junk that i know there has to be silver there. Maybe the 5" can pick it out if it will go deep. Any help would be nice. Thanks Flintstone

I haven't put it to the ground but I did airtesting the 5in and in bp sens 80 disc 15 it hits a nickel at 14ins and a 10k men's ring at 15.5 in don't know if this helps but the 11in only tests at 12 nickel same settings i have heard it is killer on trashy sites. HH

C.T. , I used the 5" coil in a very trashy park and it was about as bad as the 11" the trash was so bad. I layed a quarter on the ground and started over it and keep risen the coil and it will pick it up at 12" with sound and VDI # but after that it just showed the VDI # to about 15" no sound. I was only there about 10 min. and had to go. Next time i get to get out i will try it better. The ground here set at 68 or 69, that is good ground. Hope to get to use it this weekend, just don,t know yet. Good Luck Flintstone

that 5" coil is awesome. I can pull coins out 9" deep at the beach, in heavy trash.

Hi flintstone. I'm looking forward to hearing you're results next time out. What have read here and on a couple other forms. You might try bp or cl in trash with a sense of 70 or so and 15_21 disc as I stated in my first post I've only bench tested it and the results were impressive. Especially for a 5in.Coil I'm not surprised it picked up the quarter at the distance you mentioned let us know how you make out. I don't get out as often as I like so if you do well I might just take the 5in out next time I go. Good luck HH. C t. Tom. Ps ground here 75_87. Not great but not the worst

I have pulled some keepers out of a park I hunt with the 5" coil on my T2.
