T2 SE coil options

all iron

Member
Can someone tell me what my options are?
Will the Standard T2 coils work on the SE, i"m assuming yes but thought i would ask first.

I would like a larger coil than stock for the open fields and farm land

13" Ultimate coil are made for the T2. The 12/15" SEF COILS ARE MADE TO.

got the 10x12 S.E.F coil today
first impression... it works

Tomorrow morning i'll give it a go and report back

Scully... As you know in trashy areas bigger may not be better. There is a wide gap between the standard
11-inch open spoke and the closed 4.7-inch sniper coil. best... js

Can anyone elaborate on what this might be??? I received my T2 SE from Detector Electronics Corp.(http://www.metaldetector.com) yesterday and upon assembling the coil noticed the T2 logo area had been cut off and re-glued. I will try to post some pictures. Obviously not a factory original. Has anyone had any experience with these guys? I'm really concerned they sold me some knockoff junk. please reply with any thoughts or insight you may have. Also how can you tell if the T2 SE is genuine and not a knockoff? I've seen where you can push button/trigger and power on knob to see what version it is. Mine says 7.6. Anyone??? Any help greatly appreciated.

Thank you HH,
Jim

here are the pics of the grafted logo plate i discussed in previous post. this came with my T2 SE from Detector Electronics Corp. in Southborough MA. 01772. www.metaldetector.com

Mine looks the same and it was made in August of 2012, but the epoxy has a better seal without a crack. 7.6 is a real version also. I think all of the fake T-2's were the standard ones...............Mark

looks like the factory did a repair on it and did a sloppy job sealing it. i would be afraid to stick that one in water. you should call teknetics and tell them you want a replacement coil im sure they will make it right 1-800-413-4131

Hello DirtBagger, I'm new on this forum, although I've been looking for some times.

I saw your pictures and I tell you that I have a T2 SE bought from "kellyco" and my 11" coil is exactly the same than your pictures.
Meaning there is a "micro crack" all around the base of the machine, same place than yours.

I have the machine for almost a year, and I only have done like 6-7 outings (health issues). Also I take good care of it, so I doubt it's due to bad manipulation or something.
Actually I just notice the cracks after seeing your topic, I was looking on google with the version 7.6, as I was checking it it had any issues with discrimination- an entire different topic.

So I went to check my T2 SE and that's when I saw the very same crack than yours.
I've been already putting the coil under water near a river, sweeping for 30min, so I hope the crack is just cosmetic!

Also, I kind of think that the theory of "ez4sure" is incorrect (poor repair job) as I also bought the device new... Unless the repair was done before selling?

Anyway, you are not alone! I think you also have 7.6 version, correct?

I just emailed tecknetics on their website, let;s see what is the outcome, hopefully it won't be a "known issue" needing recall because I'm in Switzerland, I'll dont want to pay ups or fedex :D

Thanks
