T2 strange signal behavior

AluminumMagnet

New member
While detecting in all metals my machine would.....act backwards...for a lack of a better description.....

As the coil approached the target, the machine would start to signal.
As the coil was over the target the machine would go silent.
As the coil moved away from the target it would signal again.

Pinpointing was the same way. Over the target the machine was silent, as I moved away from the target, the machine would signal.

In disc. mode the machine would not signal at all no matter what the settings were.

The ground was very WET clay (see how it stuck to my propointer:surprised:). Ground balanced at around 40.

I only recovered one of these strange acting targets. It was a zinc mason jar lid with porcelain seal 12" deep.

I dug more of these that signaled normally, but there were many of these strange acting signals.

Is this normal behavior? What causes it?

Thanks,

that dont sound right you should call teknetics and talk to them 1-800-685-5050 its possible it could be something simple like coil connection ground balance way off or bad batterys
i have a t2se and its never acted like that good luck

Very likely just a combination of odd conditions: the wet clay with GB of 40, the "zinc" Mason jar lid which is probably magnetic steel with zinc galvanazing, and the depth. Plus, if it was tilted, that would increase the anomaly.
