T2 sweep speed for ID in Dp & CL mode.....

Jay Evans

New member
Target ID numbers seem to bounce around more in these modes than in the other modes. Even on shallower targets. Is this normal? I know the ID numbers are just an estimate of probable target ID..... but why do they bounce around more in these modes? I know from other posts that The Omega locks on targets and ID's them better.(Coins) any replies will be appreciated......
Thanks

I had a T2 and now have an Omega and yes, the Omega locks on better. The T2 uses different forms of processing in it's different modes. (Either sampled or continuous - I'd guess those modes are more continuous which might require a slower sweep speed but someone correct me on this.) Someone with a T2 can probably tell you more. I would test the sweeps speeds and see what makes the id's more consistent as they never will lock on. I think this is on of the big reasons the T2 is more of a relic machine but still does damn good on coins once you learn it.

I can't deny the T2 is an awesome machine.... I've had some weak high tone signals using 3 tones running @85 sens. and switched over to Dp and the signals come in clear and strong....... dig the target at around 10" and it's a shotgun pellet or some tiny piece of brass or copper. The detector is a deep seeker!! I dug a spoon handle ( very old) at about 10" the VID bounced from penny/dime to quarter but the tone signal was strong and clear....... can't read the stamping on the handle but it's really old.

Assuming that the T 2 is similar to the F 75 LTD in those modes, a slower swing works better. In fact, really slow in the cl mode. With my F 75 LTD, jumpy numbers are the norm in bp. Tone is good, but vdi is bouncy. Probably one of the reasons for coin shooting, I have fallen in love with the Omega. HH jim tn
