T2 TONES

I use the 3 Tone setting most of the time and every so often 4 Tones, mainly looking for coins and jewelry. Was wondering if there would be any advantage using 2+ tone or any of the other Tones. Also set my sensitivity at 90, not sure if I really need to set this so high. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

The modes with a + sign after the # indicates that the audio will vary in proportion to the target signal strength. bP and CL modes use the same audio as 2+ mode but with added boost for deeper target detection or when the coil can't be close to the ground surface due to high grass or snow. I mainly hunt for coins and like the 3 tone setting. The sensitivity can be run as high as the ground and emi conditions permit. Some people will run with the sensitity very high and just put up with the chatter for the added depth.

I think I get a bit more depth with 2+ than with other tone settings. I think I made a video a while back comparing the signals.

Here in the UK l usually use 2+, but have recently been experimenting with 1+ and l'm convinced l'm going deeper. l not get fainter signals coming through ,which l think the 2+ knocks out.
l had a nice hammered silver cut farthing today, nice deep/faint signal l think l would have missed with 2+, obviously will never know, but l'm going to keep trying the 1+ with higher than usual disc, normally with 2+ l use disc on 5 and rely on my ears decide and meter number to decide to dig or not...l now use 15 to 20 disc with 1+.
Along with the hammered coin l had 3 Roman grots, all faint signals,
from an area we'd searched an hour before in 2+....not conclusive l know, but considering l only had 2 in the same small area before changing to 1+, 3 is more than the first time search...the 2 found in 2+ were certainly shallower...try it sometime

next time you get a faint signal change the settings to see if it really makes a difference. the t-2 is probably one of the easiest detectors to set i've ever owned.

Agreed, it is fast and easy to set up, l'll try it, l mean to but always get impatient to get the find out the ground lol

If you are using 2+. Why not just use the boost mode. or is there a differance? don

As you suggest, the boost is an enhanced verion of 2+, l do try and use the BP mode, but its a bit busy on most ancient sites. The 1+ is a lot quiter and allows the fainter signals to be heard better, still experimenting really, BH ut thats my initial thoughts.
