T2 Volume

Really like this machine but find that you have to use headphones. Even with the volume at max it is barely audible. Is there anyway to up the volume, the speakers on this unit needs a lot of amplifying. Guess T2 are known for this.
Thanks

I have never used a detector without headphones or at least earbuds. Just out of consideration for other people in park settings. But even in the woods, with no one for hundreds of yards, I still use them. They also cut down on outside noises, such as nearby traffic or machinery. JMO

I've never used a detector without headphones either, except when letting a nearby buddy or buddies hear a target signal and the speaker in my T2 seems plenty loud for that even without the volume turned all the way up. Many of the audio modes on the T2 use modulated audio and so weak target signals don't have much volume to them, things like coins on edge, or deep small targets, it would be pretty hard to hear those types of targets wihtout headphones no matter how loud the speaker is.

Never had any problems with the T2 volume,as others have mentioned by not using headphones you could miss out on potential good finds, most of the time i use high quality headphones but during the summer when it can get hot and sticky i use a lighter backphone variation that is made by XP from france.Another thing is you would be suprised how much longer the batteries last when using headphones as it does not draw as much power.

Once you switch the T2 on and turn the volume control does the volume increase as well or is it stuck at just one level when you switch it on ???

I've got to admit a downward firing speaker located beneath your elbow seems like someone forgot about it tilll there was nowhere else to put it. That said, I usually don't have a problem hearing it. We're pretty rural here, so there's no traffic noise to deal with at most of my sites. I feel headphones are cumbersome and uncomfortable over my glasses and in the woods where big cats are becoming more common, I would rather hear the environment as well as the detector.

My volume control is adjustable, if yours is not, I'd suspect a possible volume control problem, or I'd try to verify if that's actually the case.
