T2SE on Soft fluffy soil

Youngted

New member
During the past couple of days I have used the T2SE on my most prolific Roman site.Yet nothing of note came up. Over the years I have never owned a machine that performed well on new plough that has been left in deep fluffy soil. Any of you had the same at any time??

i think its more to do with moisture in the soil after a long very dry spell ,the little rain we have had has soaked right through ..been out with a mate with a deus over the last few weeks and he is reporting the same neither of us are finding much ,dig a clod out touch it with yer boot and it turns to dust virtually

Brian, think all VLF machines suffer the same problem especially just after they have been ploughed and rolled with the soil being 'fluffy' pretty certain its because of the air in the soil, but after a few days it usually settles and even better or quicker if it rains after as well.As Jeff has mentioned the ground being very dry once again that does not help, almost certain that this is why that during the winter when the soil has compacted again and is slightly moist the find increase again. The ideal ground conditions for VLF machines.

When i use a Pulse machines this does not seem to bother it as much as with a VLF machine for some reason, the dry ground of Aussie and Arizona goldfields would seem to back this one up,as the grounds in these locations must be bone dry but they still seem to be able to get a deeper signal down with a Pulse machine.

Just a few observations over the years, why this happens i dont really have a clue, one of life's mysteries i guess.

This field has not been touched since the plough plenty of rain but no finds YET cant wait till it gets rolled later on
