Taking a stand....it's Christmas!

New member
"I've about had alls I can stands, I can't stands no more" as Popeye the Sailor would say.

I just received an email from a company wishing me Happy Holidays.

I've had my fill of this 'get God out of the season' Happy Holidays trash so here is the reply I wrote back to the company:

"MERRY CHRISTMAS.

So sick of mamby pamby companies that cannot say, will not say, tell their employees not to say, Merry Christmas. Just roll over and play dead. Let the minority rule a country that was founded on a belief in God. We kick God out of schools....what did we get? We kick God out of what a state does....what do we get?
Now the minority want to kick God out of a day of remembrance of a day God became flesh through a virgin birth. (So Jesus may not have been born on that exact day - its still a day of remembrance).

Look at President's Day - a day of remembrance for Presidents birthdays. They were not all born that day. In fact there used to be separate days for Washington's Birthday and one for Lincoln's birthday until someone decided to combine them. And if we celebrate all the President's birthdays, both past and present, they were not all born on that exact day. But still we remember them for the contributions they made to building this country. Those who don't care enjoy a paid day off and never give second thought to the contributions of these great men of history did.

So Jesus has had a day set aside for several hundred years. A day of remembrance of a plan God made to redeem us. It took His son, Jesus, to come from Heaven to earth through an immaculate conception (virgin birth), be born of the same flesh we have, to live in a world that was destined to be destroyed if no other changes were made, Jesus lived and set an example for us to follow, He was falsely accused of crimes, He was beaten and bruised for out transgressions, He bore our sins on the cross and He died....The payment for atonement - to set us right with God. And it did not stop there, Jesus rose again and is alive. Sitting at the right hand of God the Father, all power and might is in His name - the name of Jesus.

Do we want to slap God in the face and say Jesus was never born, that He never lived among us, that He never showed us the way to everlasting life, that He did not die a horrible death on the cross for you and for my sins, that He did not rise again from the dead and that He is alive in Heaven now?

If that is your desire, may God have mercy on you soul.

You decide. Choose life or choose death, choose blessing or cursing. Will you continue to allow a minority of people have you blowing in the breeze with every whim or take a stand as did those who gave so bravely to this country - their faith, their fortunes and their lives.

Wishing you a Merry CHRISTmas (the reason for the season is Christ)

Thomas Peters Sr."

Without Christ there would be no Christmas!
Holiday are great, but Christmas is CHRIST! :)

I just read this a few minutes ago............

I know that this is only a depiction made by some man....I know that Jesus didn't write this....However... my Spirit understands the letter in it's contents....and you know what? I believe that this guy was pretty dog-gone close!

Merry Christmas,
Happy Birthday Jesus

The Letter:

Dear Children,

It has come to my attention that many of you are upset that folks are taking
My name out of the season. Maybe you've forgotten that I wasn't actually
born during this time of the year and that it was some of your predecessors
who decided to celebrate My birthday on what was actually a time of pagan
festival. Although I do appreciate being remembered anytime.

How I personally feel about this celebration can probably be most easily
understood by those of you who have been blessed with children of your own.
I don't care what you call the day. If you want to celebrate My birth, just
GET ALONG AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

Now, having said that let Me go on. If it bothers you that the town in which
you live doesn't allow a scene depicting My birth, then just get rid of a
couple of Santas and snowmen and put in a small Nativity scene on your own
front lawn. If all My followers did that there wouldn't be any need for such
a scene on the town square because there would be many of them all around
town.

Stop worrying about the fact that people are calling the tree a holiday
tree, instead of a Christmas tree. It was I who made all trees. You can
remember Me anytime you see any tree. Decorate a grape vine if you wish: I
actually spoke of that one in a teaching, explaining who I am in relation to
you and what each of our tasks were. If you have forgotten that one, look up
John 15: 1 - 8.

If you want to give Me a present in remembrance of My birth here is my wish
list. Choose something from it:

1. Instead of writing protest letters objecting to the way My birthday is
being celebrated, write letters of love and hope to soldiers away from home.
They are terribly afraid and lonely this time of year. I know, they tell Me
all the time.

2. Visit someone in a nursing home. You don't have to know them personally.
They just need to know that someone cares about them.

3. Instead of writing George complaining about the wording on the cards his
staff sent out this year, why don't you write and tell him that you'll be
praying for him and his family this year. Then follow up. It will be nice
hearing from you again.

4. Instead of giving your children a lot of gifts you can't afford and they
don't need, spend time with them. Tell them the story of My birth, and why I
came to live with you down here. Hold them in your arms and remind them that
I love them.

5. Pick someone that has hurt you in the past and forgive him or her.

6. Did you know that someone in your town will attempt to take their own
life this season because they feel so alone and hopeless? Since you don't
know who that person is, try giving everyone you meet a warm smile; it could
make the difference.

7. Instead of nit picking about what the retailer in your town calls the
holiday, be patient with the people who work there. Give them a warm smile
and a kind word. Even if they aren't allowed to wish you a "Merry Christmas"
that doesn't keep you from wishing them one. Then stop shopping there on
Sunday. If the store didn't make so much money on that day they'd close and
let their employees spend the day at home with their families

8. If you really want to make a difference, support a missionary--
especially one who takes My love and Good News to those who
have never heard My name.

9. Here's a good one. There are individuals and whole families in your town
who not only will have no "Christmas" tree, but neither will they have any
presents to give or receive. If you don't know them, buy some food and a few
gifts and give them to the Salvation Army or some other charity which
believes in Me and they will make the delivery for you.

10. Finally, if you want to make a statement about your belief in and
loyalty to Me, then behave like a Christian. Don't do things in secret that
you wouldn't do in My presence. Let people know by your actions that you are
one of mine.

Don't forget; I am God and can take care of Myself. Just love Me and do what
I have told you to do. I'll take care of all the rest. Check out the list
above and get to work; time is short. I'll help you, but the ball is now in
your court.

And do have a most blessed Christmas with all those whom you
love and remember :
I LOVE YOU,

live in a small town where everyone still wishes each other a "Merry Christmas" when they meet during the Christmas Season. Even when I'm other places I still say "Merry Christmas" whether they like or not. After all Christmas is a time to remember and honor the greatest gift to mankind, The Birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The funny thing is that even if some people don't believe, if they celebrate Christmas Day in any way, They are still recognizing the birth of Jesus. The world is doomed to destruction, and only the true believers will reap the rewards of the greatest gift of all "JESUS CHRIST"
Merry Christmas to All,
KY Bud

that letter was great, we too often worry about things that are not important and neglect the things that are. Jesus said you will know these my disciples for the love they have for the brethren. { paraphrasing } i think at times we as Christians get caught up in the work that we forget who we are working for. its not about our religious organization, our agenda, or anything else it's about him. Jesus said it's not all who call me lord will enter heaven but only those that do the will of the father here on earth. unless we are about his business and doing his will we ourselves become the ones that are fooled, we think that good intention's equal a good outcome. when in fact there are times and season to everything, the time is short and the season is a harvest one. therefor we should be out preaching the good news to the lost. Jesus said it is the sick thats needs the doctor. but yet we as Christian tend to stick to our own while a world longs for hope. the hope they need is not religious quick fix , by that i mean get saved, that is a great start but what they really need after that which they rarely get is mentoring. that is somebody that is willing to take them under wing and become that spiritual farther to them. unfortunately very few people now a days want to invest that much time, but this in fact is the very thing Jesus was teaching us by example, investing in other people's lifes. although it is important to ackownledge that he was born, and HE WAS and IS. It is just as important to live by his commands and do what HE said. overwise its not enough to just believe!!!!!:tesoro:
