It is just Grace and I for most of the day so I took her on her first real diggin adventure! She has been wanting to go. I let her use her older sisters detector which is a little to big but she managed. We went to her school where there is a huge area full of play equipment and sand everywhere. This way she was able to use a sand scoop. I gave her some pointers and off she went. Bingo she got her first find! a clad quarter.

We wandered around a bit and I was picking up some clad, she said I'm not finding anything. Then BEEP! up comes a nickel. I said always check the hole again. BEEP! scoop and wow three coins in the scoop! Beep! 5 coins in the scoop! then one more. Her second dig was 10 clad coins in one hole! 5 nickels, 4 dimes, and a quarter.

Well we got some more clad and junk, and I got a cheap toe ring. Here are the finds. Grace's are on the left and mine on the right. I got more coins, but she beat me on dollar amount! Not bad for 7 years old! :)

You're gonna have to get more detectors soon Mike...Gracie will want her own. Great when family members go detecting together. Congrats to you both.

to get a Tesoro that is super light weight so she can use it, and I can do seeded hunts with it.

Looks like you have a real treasure hunter on your hands no turning back now she's hooked. Howard

That is great to get to hunt with your daughter. Tell her she will have to hunt alot if she wants to save up enough for a car in a few years.

Congrats Grace! You go girl and get them goodies! Clad coins add up and also you just might find a ring, as I found a Blue Star Saphire lady's ring in the pea gravel of a play area! Starting now you will have a long time to collect and show and tell! :clapping: :) God Bless! Betty

That is great Mike. To see a parent spend quality time with their child is priceless. Those are times that you hold close forever. I look at my sons who are 29 and 26 and I long for the days when they were little and we would do things together. They grow up really fast, so spend as much times with your little ones as you can. Looks like Grace is taking after dad. Thanks for the pictures.

Glad you and Grace were able to spend time together and that she came up with some nice finds!

Lisa

That would work as those Tesoros are light weight. Always great to see Grace's smile
