Talked to a home builder about my wet wall gremlin...

warthog

New member
He asked me if I felt any draft in the wall when I cut that piece of wall out-I said yes,a little-He said"THATS IT!!!I KNOW WHAT IT WAS!!"-He gets excited easily-ANYWAY:He said its warm inside;and cold outside, and the condensation goes toward the warm side if there is a draft inside the wall-That explains why everything inside is dry and the wet came inside-He said its no big deal;and its better if there is movement of air back there,anyway-keeps the moisture frrom settling inside the walls;and rotting from the inside-out.....

Warthog, I'm glad that the mystery is solved, and I hope all will continue to be well in that area.

Is that an outside wall? Or is it a wall with a room on both sides or it?
