tape-on grid for explorer 2

Just getting back into the hobby; its good to be back! Used to have the original explorer with a tape-on grid for SF display. Just received my explorer 2 and wondered if anyone has a tape-on clear lined grid I can download for the explorer 2? It really helped me on the original explorer. Again, its good to be back!! Thank you in advance! :happy:
 
I'll be danged if I can find it, but someone had a download available. I did download it but it was in a format I couldn't open on my work computer. If I happen to find it, I'll let you know.

Thank you very much! Back when I had my first Explorer, that tape on grid screen made a huge difference for both gold & coin programs (learn/edit) and time spent analyzing multiple crosshair hits/tones in field conditions. To me, it was the best add-on besides the X-1 probe and 8" coil!!!;):)
 
Not the one I was looking for but I found this... You can actually make up a grid yourself in Excel and print them out on a transparancy sheet. I think this one is 8 X 8 but you could double up on that if you want

I don't really understand the need for a grid though. Why not just go by sound and a digital readout? Coins are not always "textbook". Soil condition, depth, position, co-located targets all affect the readout. One person's grid and target locations may not be the same for someone else. Right?

The one I had was for the XS; I downloaded it from the explorer xs forum back in 2001 or so. Resized it on copier to fit my screen perfectly, then printed multiple screens on a 8 1/2 x 11 clear plastic sheet. Cut out the one I used, and kept the rest for spares (can't find now). This numbered grid was phenominal for patterns, and I used different colored markers for targets; bench & actual. It was a tool that I would not even fire up the explorer xs without! I may have to try excel as was suggested myself. If I manage to get it right, I will e-mail it to you.:)

As soon as I receive the grid from Gary, I'll let you know. If all else fails, you could measure your working smartfind (full size) and fit in the 0-31 coordindates for both conductive & ferrous. 00 would be on bottom right corner, with 31 top right (conductive) and 31 bottom left. I just don't know excell well enough yet to do it.
