when using the at pro, with the discrimation set at 35,running in coin pro mode, should I be still hearing and seeing target id's below 35?or is the disc of 35 only for iron and still allows other targets to come through?crazy machine, blowfly

I'll give this a lash...I run in pro zero disc 40 with iron audio off, even still, I will get signals in the high 30's, along with the tid showing iron targets below that...I probably should be running 35 disc. for gold chains, I generally turn on the Pro and push and hold disc and count to "10" which maxes out disc at 40...yes, its quite a strange machine, depending upon what the iron is like in the area, the tids can be all over the place on good targets, I dont mind, it really nails me some good stuff, I'm only using the Pro in the water, and scoop everything scratchy, nasty and solid signals anywhere from the high 30's on up...those low 40's soft signals like a piece of foil are things I focus on..all solid mid range, rings hit like a train on this thing! I have not tried any settings other than these in over a year.

With Iron Audio ON you will hear all targets. With Iron Audio off you will only hear any target above what your have your Iron Audio set at(35). Not sure about the display.

This is what I have found to work best for me. I run wide open, pro zero, full sensitivity, iron at zero, iron audio off. I am no doubt finding more good targets. That is a lot of noise to tolerate, but it is a just a matter of learning to speak the language. I recently found a 1952 Washington with a nail in the same hole, that I had missed before. So I get a lot of mid and high tones in the same spot. I think in pro coin, if there is a large junk target it may block out a dime or something small and good. So in pro zero I hear the high tone peeps and then the dirt starts to fly and more times then not it will be a good find.

I run Pro zero, Zero discrim , and one notch below max sensitivity. In the AT Pro manual it explains Iron Disc starting on page 24 and runs thru Iron Audio thru to page 29. The way I read it, you only want just enough to knock out say a nail but not too much that it knocks out both targets. If the targets are close enough together the AT Pro will use the "combined" conductivity. So lets say a nail comes in at "20" and a penny at "80" but are close enough to be seen as "one" target with a combined conductivity of 35 . With iron Disc set to "20" you will get a good signal of "35". Remember "good" is basically anything above what you set for DISC. What Iron Audio on does is change the cut off of the tones. Every thing below your Iron Disc will be "low" tone, everything above upto 75 will be a "mid" tone, everything above 75 will be high tone. Iron Adio off 0 to 35 "low" tone 35 to 75 "mid" tone above 75 "high" tone. With Iron Audio off the numbers you dic out will be "silent" but you will still get a visual response. So you may have Iron Disc set at "30" with Iron Audio you will still "see" numbers below 30 but shouldn't hear them. Turn Iron Audio on and now everything below "30" is low tone, 30 to 75 is now a mid tone and above 75 a high tone.
