target ratios

I noticed this last year because our club was having a clad contest how keeping track of your finds can help you increase desirable targets. Just knowing what you are digging in what ratio allows you to determine if some are worth even digging based on trash in the same target range and time spent digging them. Ive also notice more people have seemed to change their style of targets because of the rise in gold and silver. It looks like more posts are being made with jewelry .... especially the quantity of these items. Keeping track of your finds have a definite benefit that can have a dramatic affect on your finds. Its a common sense thing.

another thing about these ratios.... dont get used to listening to clad that you forget to retrain that thing between your ears. Its always important to run some of those rarely heard coins like IHs, half dimes, and even nickels (they might be nickels or jewelry) often when you have nothing elce to do. Another way to up those finds.

Good post dew. I have been keeping detailed records since 2007 and would agree this helps you to look back and see patterns. It also helps because you can look back and see some very productive areas if you are having a hard time thinking of places to go. I recommend backing up all pics, finds lists, hunting locations, and research to a flash drive or something similar because a computer crash can be devistating to your stored data and hard work.
