Targets,Targets Everywhere

I been using my XP Deus for just a few months. At first I was disappointed in the performance after using a Minelab 705 for 3 years but now I find more targets than I can dig. I'm mostly using Andy Sabisch's US coin programs and they work great. I'm finding more targets than ever and I certainly can not dig them all. I've learned that shallow targets in the 70's and 80's are mostly aluminum or some other junk so I don't dig them. I may be missing some good things but I doubt it. I've dug enough of that junk to pretty much know the difference in sound. I hunt especially older parks in search of coins and there tends to be a lot of junk and it can be hard to find deeper targets. To those of you who are new to the XP Deus,I say know your location and what you expect to find and ignore the 70's and 80's. Pennies can be hard to distinguish from dimes under some circumstances but I usually don't dig pennies. So that's my experience. I would like to hear yours.

I also have become a newbie to the Deus, & also have the common frustrations learning the sounds. I dig pennies mainly because they like trash, mask good targets. I also hunt old parks and found a nice 14K wedding band on my 3rd outing. It was a solid 65 using basic 1. My four largest and best gold rings all read in rhe zinc penny range. I recently dug a nice engraved sterling bracelet at 5 inches. It read 78 in Andy's hi-trash program. I thought it might be an IH penny. Just this week I had just stepped onto an old park and the 1st target was a shallow 81 in basic 1. It was a ladies sterling ring with 3 fake rocks. I clean my pennies and trade em in for the golden dollars which I roll up and stow away for rainey day fund. Remember pennies make dimes, dimes make dollars and mask the good stuff. Good luck.
