I am sure this has come up before on this site. But it is 3 am and I am getting tired so I am being lazy here and asking anyway. Tomorrow I am going to buy a new PI detector from a local dealer. He has a Garret Infinium and also a TDI. The Infinium is the standard $1k price and the TDI is $1250 out the door brand new.
I do a lot of coin hunting on the dry sand beaches in Florida and also do a lot of coin hunting in parks and school yards in Ohio. I am ready to try something different as I have owned Minelab E-trac, Explorer, Excalibur 800, Fisher F75 and White's DFX and a whole bunch more. Been MDing now for over 25 years.
Not having much experience with PI, which I plan on changing. I like the idea of the TDI being able to null out iron. I like the idea of not having to worry about getting the Infinium wet. A friend is using an Infinium and I am impressed with his ability to find things even deeper than my E-trac. I have been reading how the TDI is a killer on the beaches too.
Which machine would anyone recommend for the type of hunting I do?
